Milwaukee Modern Chinese School (MMCS) is a non-profit educational organization established in 1994. It is a prime resource for comprehensive Chinese language learning in the Greater Milwaukee area. Mandarin Chinese is the primary language of instruction. The school offers 10 class levels including classes designed for non-Chinese speaking children and adults and currently has more than 210 students beginning from age 5. Classes are held every Sunday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Lalumiere Language Hall of Marquette University.

MCLI is an extension of Mercan School in China where it has been successfully providing English teaching to over 70,000 Chinese students since 1997.

The Milwaukee Academy of Chinese Language (M.A.C.L.) is the first public elementary school in the city of Milwaukee offering the Chinese language Mandarin and culture.   M.A.C.L. will serve approximately 210 students in grades K-4 through 5th grades in our first year as a charter school. We will have a rich learning environment that will be maintained by dedicated professional staff and supported by an active Governance Council, Learning Team and a Parent Teacher Community (P.T.C.)  Also, an established partnership with Neighborhood House of Milwaukee will work with M.A.C.L. staff to design and implement an after school program to support M.AC.L.'s vision.  Neighborhood House will also provide involvement in their environmental education and outdoor adventures program.   Students will be taught all subjects in english and attend our language lab daily to learn Mandarin Chinese.
